Buchanan House is located in a quiet, safe residential area of Highland Park.  The group home has been successfully operating since January of 1989, offering permanent housing and a program of semi-independent living.

Buchanan House is designed to serve six residents in single bedrooms, with shared common spaces.   There are numerous amenities nearby, which include shopping, eating places and transportation lines.

A part-time residential manager is responsible for routine maintenance.  A qualified case manager meets with residents and assists them with locating community resources to meet individual program needs.   Residents are also required to attend group house meetings one time each week.

Residents pay 30% of their adjusted gross income for rent.   Residents are also responsible for their own phone, and low cost utilities are shared.
