The
HFLF Harbor Gateway Homes
[218th Street House
(facility number 198202438),
223rd Street House (facility
number 198202431) and
Mariposa House (facility
number 198202435)] are
clustered 6-bed, state
licensed residential HUD-811
homes. Along with
Denker
House,
the homes are located in the
Harbor Gateway area of Los
Angeles near the Harbor UCLA
Medical Center. The homes
opened on August 1, 1999 to
serve a total of 18 formerly
homeless mentally disabled
adults.
Bedrooms in the homes are
designed to accommodate two
tenants each, although
single bedrooms are
available in one of the
homes. There are large
family/living room areas,
full kitchens, dining rooms,
bathrooms and newly
landscaped front and
backyards for recreation and
socialization.
Clients pay the state
licensed board and care rate
which includes rent,
services and utilities.
Clients are offered services
such as music and art
therapy, outings, baseball
games, and access to a local
gym. A residential manager
is on site 24 hours per day
and case managers visit the
home on a regular basis. |
